Dr. S. Sankaranarayan

The world is fettered by action which is different from Yajna-action; therefore, O son of Kunti, free from attachment, perform Yajna-action properly.

Shri Purohit Swami

In this world people are fettered by action, unless it is performed as a sacrifice. Therefore, O Arjuna, let thy acts be done without attachment, as sacrifice only.

Swami Adidevananda

This world is held in the bondage of work only when work is not performed as sacrifice. O Arjuna, you must perform work to this end, free from attachment.

Swami Gambirananda

This man becomes bound by actions other than that action meant for God. Without being attached, O son of Kunti, you perform actions for Him.

Swami Sivananda

The world is bound by actions other than those performed for the sake of sacrifice; do thou, therefore, O son of Kunti, perform action for that sake (for sacrifice) alone, free from attachment!
