Dr. S. Sankaranarayan

That he would realize to be the cause for his cessation of contact with misery and to be the one made known by Yoga. With determination, that is to be yoked in Yoga by a person of undepressed mind (or of the depressed mind).

Shri Purohit Swami

This inner severance from the affliction of misery is spirituality. It should be practised with determination and with a heart which refuses to be depressed.

Swami Adidevananda

Know this deliverance from association with misery to be Yoga. This Yoga must be practised with determination and with a mind free from despondency.

Swami Gambirananda

One should know that severance of contact with sorrow to be what is called Yoga. That Yoga has to be practised with perseverance and with an undepressed heart.

Swami Sivananda

Let that be known by the name of Yoga, the severance from union with pain. This Yoga should be practised with determination and with an undesponding mind.
